You, Inc. — Replacing The Corporate Culture In You

Let me tell you a secret– you have incredible power inside of you. You need only to flip through the history pages to see that even one person can go against a culture and change it for the better. Where would the world be without Galileo, Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi and even Oprah Winfrey? These individuals took their personal cultures and by it, revolutionized the world.

How does this even apply to someone like me, you might be asking. Perhaps you have no plans on changing the world; however, you can change life in you and everywhere else within your reach.

We have heard that culture is the set of beliefs and ideas prevalent within a group of people. This does not mean only in the world or the national stage; culture applies to even the smaller groups you move in, like your family, society and your work place. In this article we tackle how to go beyond the corporate culture and purpose life improvement by creating your own.

During the’50s, the owner of an insurance company used to give weekly motivational pep talks to his staff. Sales jobs were highly stressful even before, so these motivation quotes were something the employees look forward to. When the owner had to leave, he pre-recorded these motivational messages to have them played when he was gone.

These motivational quotes worked so well that the employees kept the recording to continue to inspire them. Now there are over one million copies of this powerful message that have been sold. By the way, this is a true story-one that can happen to anyone.

Do you want this for your life? What are the dreams or goals that you have today? Write these down as well as the associations that come to mind when you think of these goals. Make it as specific as possible-what you have is the list of your paradigms. Once you have it in front of you, ask yourself what the reasons are for each of the mindsets you have formed throughout the years.

So now that we have all this information-what do you plan to do about it? You can be a victim or a participant but I suggest you choose to be a creator of culture instead. You can change life by changing your paradigm. Decide to adopt a positive attitude and speak affirmative words and you will begin to see what you desire your life to be.

What does it matter if it is motivating people to do well in their sales jobs or changing the world Oprah-style? You purpose life in changing the culture and making a difference in somebody’s life. Release the power that lies inside of you and make your footprint in this world.
